Enjoyed the Omaha Heads up more than I thought I would, winning the first 2 games and only missing out on the money by one match. 3rd guy I played hit everything and got a huge lead, although if he hadn't hit the river to knock me out I would have been back even in chips. Not too bothered as I had another good day on Ladbrokes coming 6th in the hilo rebuy and winning a small tourney, the €5 hilo with 32 runners. Small profit on the horses too so a winning day overall. Ladbrokes and Full Tilt bankrolls looking healthy and I bought into the remaining FTOPS events as well as cashing out.
Wide awake and slightly bored so I think I will play the FL FTOPS. I'm not usually a masochist but as I will be awake watching some comedy or other anyway I may as well have some cards in front of me too.
Update: 4 hours into the fixedlimit holdem and I am sitting on 85000 chips from a starting stack of 5000. This puts me 11/513 with 390 paid from 3562 starters. It's been a bit more fun than I had thought, especially once the blinds got reasonably high. Playing 6 handed helps too as it's pretty easy to keep tracks of who is doing what. Once I had a few chips it's been all about position and aggression and the odd lucky flop. FL is a horrible game sometimes so not counting any chickens but with a bit of luck I could go quite deep.
Came 2nd in a Ladbrokes €10 turbo for €81 and also won £40 betting on Argentinian football so staying awake has proved profitable even if the FTOPS goes wahoonie shaped.
Crashed and burned in the end - got down to the bubble quite quickly and after that it went crazy. 6 handed and with the average stack around 15 BB's everyone had a pretty wide range for raising and re raising. First bit of damage was done whenn AQ lost on a Q high flop to J8 and after that I just couldn't hit a thing. No regrets as there wasn't much I could do about it. Ended up 212th to just about double my money.
